The Rochester Lions Club will be hosting the 22^nd Rockin Rods n’ Rochester Car Show on Sunday August 14, 2022, on Walnut Boulevard in downtown Rochester. Known as the Dream Cruise Warm-up, the event is very popular and attended by thousands of people.  All proceeds from the car show goes to support Leader Dogs for the Blind and other Lions Charities.
 
The Rockin Rods Show opens at 9:00 a.m. and consists of up to 400 cars entered in 21 different classes. The classes are Hot Rods, Pre 1950 Classics, 50’s Classics, 1960’s Classics, 1970’s Classics, 1980’s to Present, Corvettes, Muscle Cars, Sport Cars, Specialty Vehicles, Trucks, Custom, Pro Street, Vintage, Street Rods, and Motorcycles plus awards for Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine. Special awards will be given for Best of Show, Pride of the Lions, Leader Dogs Pick of the Litter. The awards will be presented at approximately 3:30 p.m.
 
Car shows are a challenge again this year. The Rochester Lions Club struggled around the COVID restrictions in 2020 and had to cancel some of their fund raising events. This year the price of a gallon of gas might impact the distance classic cars will travel.  
 
In addition to the fine-looking cars and the D.J. Music, the show features food and refreshments, 50/50 raffles, door prizes, current t-shirts and posters and a special Ladies’ raffle.
 
Participants for the show can enter their car using the online registration process which can be accessed by going to the club’s web site, rochesterlionsclub.org or by downloading the registration form available on the site.
