Harmony in the Hills Presents: North Star Saxophone Quartet

July 22, 2025

St. Paul's United Methodist Church's Harmony in the Hills Concert will present the North Star Saxophone Quartet on Wednesday, August 20 at 7 p.m. at 620 Romeo Street, Rochester, MI. The concert will take place in the Garden of Hope, in front of the church, weather permitting. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or folding chair for the outdoor performance. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the church. Admission is free.

The North Star Saxophone Quartet features soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones in a powerful tour de force. North Star is both an international and multi-state ensemble, with members from Michigan, Ohio, and Windsor, Ontario. All members are members of the American Federation of Musicians (AFM). Unlike other saxophone ensembles, which specialize in one musical genre, the North Star Quartet performs all genres of western music, and a few non-western as well, sometimes in the same program. Typical concerts include: jazz, classical, ragtime, pop, baroque, folk, blues and music from television and movie soundtracks. You won't find a more unique, freewheeling live music experience in the Midwest.

Harmony in the Hills Concert Series is offered by St. Paul's United Methodist Church and features the finest local and international talent in classical, jazz and gospel music. Concerts are held throughout the year on various days and at different times to allow more patrons the opportunity to attend. Ticket costs are nominal and sometimes a free-will donation. Harmony in the Hills is under the artistic direction of Director of Music Dr. Seung Hee Cho.
