Rochester Hills Residents Offer High Praise in 2025 Community Survey

Rochester Hills residents offer high praise in 2025 community survey: Quality of life, parks and trails, and satisfaction with City services received top billing

The residents of Rochester Hills have given an overwhelming endorsement for the City’s quality of life, feeling of safety, investments in parks and trails, and overall satisfaction with city services in the recent 2025 Community Survey.

The statistically significant survey conducted by Probolsky Research in June produced exceptionally high ratings in a variety of areas. As it relates to quality of life, 94% rated it excellent/good while 95% said they would recommend living in Rochester Hills to someone who asks. Residents were also extremely satisfied with Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Rochester Hills Fire Department with 99% saying they feel safe in their home and 98% satisfied with fire, rescue, and EMS.

This recognition from Rochester Hills residents comes on the heels of U.S. News & World Reports ranking the City the best place to live in Michigan and the 9th best place to live in America.

“These exceptional survey results reflect the collaborative spirit and hard work of our entire team and the vision set forth by the City Council,” said Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We are incredibly proud that our residents overwhelmingly feel safe, enjoy a high quality of life, and are satisfied with the services we provide. This survey is really a report card from our residents and we are thrilled to receive all A’s! We will use this data to further enhance our reputation as the preeminent place to live, work, and raise a family."

Other key findings from the survey include:
●98% satisfaction with parks, trails, and green spaces
● 94% Rochester Hills employees acted in a professional manner
● Residents said the parks, safety, and people/community were what they liked best about living in the City
● 92% satisfied with the services the City provides

The City of Rochester Hills conducts a biennial survey of its residents in an effort to connect with community members and understand with qualified data their opinions on services provided by the City and their general thoughts on living in Rochester Hills. The statistically valid survey results are used by Rochester Hills leaders to set goals, identify challenges, and plan for improvements to maintain our standing as the preeminent place to live, work and raise a family.

Probolosky Research also conducted this survey for the City in 2023 and noted no significant changes this year.

“When we received the results of this survey - and we do them all over the country - we all kept doing a double-take at the data,” said Alyce Basil, Managing Researcher for Probolsky Research. “We just don’t see numbers this high. The numbers are really outstanding.”
